And it’s not just the kiddos who they want to get moving, it’s their families, too. With a series of upcoming events, Oak Hill families can get into the swing of a fun, family-based exercise program that can build healthy bodies and even help get more oxygen flowing to all those brain cells!

The first of the upcoming events includes a CATCH Family Fitness Night on Thursday, February 9th. The event gives participants the opportunity to try yoga, martial arts, or hip hop dance, all for free. Those interested can show up at Oak Hill Elementary at 6pm on Thursday, February 9 in their workout clothes. A good attitude and something to drink are also encouraged for participation.

Another great opportunity to help boost physical fitness is the Jumpoline Park’s Family Fun Day on Friday, February 17th. For everyone who visits the indoor trampoline park on that day (it’s a student holiday), between 10am and noon, the park will donate $2 per jumper to Oak Hill Elementary. This is a prime opportunity to check out this new space for family fun, just minutes away from the Ridge at Lantana subdivision in South Austin.

Finally, a way to incorporate both fitness and goodwill into family time is coming this March, as the OHE Student Council will be cleaning up Patton Ranch Road, just outside of the school. On Saturday, March 3rd at 9:30am, students will clean and beautify the road through Keep Austin Beautiful’s Adopt-a-Street program. The student council has made a two-year commitment to keeping the area clean through the program. A little bit of trash pick-up and beautification is a great, low-impact way to get in some exercise.

For anyone looking for an excellent school that offers many opportunities to students and their families, Oak Hill Elementary is the place to go, and the neighborhoods near the school are convenient places to search for an Austin home. Ridge at Lantana and Travis Country West are nearby subdivisions, and the agents at Regent Property Group know the area well and can help families make good decisions throughout the home buying process.
